Why isn’t the word Yahweh in the New Testament?

Many Christians claim that Yahweh is the personal name of God. I find this curious, because the New Testament is devoid of such a name.  This shows not only the lack of importance of the name Yahweh ,  but should make Christians and Jews alike question whether the name Yahweh was ever used for God in their original uncorrupted texts of old?

Surah 7:180

And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. And leave [the company of] those who practice deviation concerning His names. They will be recompensed for what they have been doing.

  2. Martin Miller says:

Firstly, if you have ears to hear, listen carefully, we speak spiritual truths, revealed by the spirit of God, through the forgiveness of sins. The flesh cannot please God, it is at enmity with God, it cannot know God, for it was cursed by God in the beginning when man sinned so that all men would have to seek His mercy to be saved. If you would like to know the truth, the creator of heaven and earth told the prophet Moshe that all generations will call Him, “Yahweh” which is a Hebrew word that means, “I Am” in English. He also called Himself, “Elohim” which means, “Gods.” Know for certain that the study of God is not like the study of physics and math, knowledge of Him is not found through intelligent minds and hard work. As it is written, ” the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish.” (Isaiah 29:14) It is only by God’s mercy and grace that we know who He is. You should know this as you pursue the truth if you have received the desire for life and righteousness which is only through God.
In the gospel of John chapter 8, “Yahweh” is in the NT.
“Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!” (John 8:58)
Here Yeshua tells these sinners that He is the creator of heaven and earth.

A transliteration of Yahweh in English is, “the living one.” He alone has life, His words are life.

Here again, The Son of God tells us that He is that one,
“I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.” (Rev 1:18)

It is apparent that English scholars have made a mistake by translating the word Yahweh/Jehova to say, “The LORD.”
    Will The Living One disagree?
May He speak to lead us away from quarrels and hopeless arguments, which is not the will of God for His heirs.

Of course, it is God who has let mistakes and tragedies happen, and all men are being disciplined, so that we will not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead.

God is alive to testify that what I am saying is truthful. Contrary to the Quran’s message, Jesus did say He was God many times, as He did in the verses I shared with you, and because He loves you with all His heart, I will ask that He tells you today that He is, and there is no other. amen

  3. Hi Martin, Thank you for your reply. You mentioned the following:

” If you would like to know the truth, the creator of heaven and earth told the prophet Moshe that all generations will call Him, “Yahweh” ”
    >>>>> By all generations, does that include Abraham as well?
    https://islamicarchives.wordpress.com/2017/09/18/did-abraham-know-the-name-yahweh-before-moses-old-testament-contradiction/
    >>>>Moreover Melchizedek is called Yahweh in the Dead Sea Scrolls, does that make him God?
    https://islamicarchives.wordpress.com/2018/01/12/melchizedek-is-called-yahweh-in-the-dead-sea-scrolls/

“He also called Himself, “Elohim” which means, “Gods.”
    >>> Exodus 7:1, And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god (ELOHIM) to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.
    >>>>>Is Moses a Plural entity?
    https://islamicarchives.wordpress.com/2017/03/26/elohim-is-used-for-others-than-god/
    https://islamicarchives.wordpress.com/2017/03/26/elohim-is-not-always-plural

“”Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!” (John 8:58)
Here Yeshua tells these sinners that He is the creator of heaven and earth.”
    >>>>>>>> Ummmm…..No……the folly of this argument can be seen when one realizes that many angels existed before Abraham and they are still quite alive and well, including Satan and his angels,..

” Contrary to the Quran’s message, Jesus did say He was God many times”
    >>>> Before we get into so-called verses of divnity, would you agree that there is no concept of the trinity being taught in the Old Testament or on the lips of Jesus?
