Hebrew Word for Word of Zechariah 12:10

Original  Zec 12:10(KJV)
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

Young’s Literal Translation
And I have poured on the house of David, And on the inhabitant of Jerusalem, A spirit of grace and supplications, And they have looked unto Me whom they pierced, And they have mourned over it, Like a mourning over the only one, And they have been in bitterness for it, Like a bitterness over the first-born.

  1. Consider the Catholic New Jerusalem Bible: But over the House of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem I shall pour out a spirit of grace and prayer, and they will look to me. They will mourn for the one whom they have pierced as though for an only child, and weep for him as people weep for a first-born child.

  2. So the idea in that rendering is that they’re looking to Yahweh in reference to a person being pierced. A similar case would be like if your kid is sick so you pray to God.

10And I will pour out upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplications. And they shall look to me because of those who have been thrust through [with swords], and they shall mourn over it as one mourns over an only son and shall be in bitterness, therefore, as one is embittered over a firstborn son.

  4. Waghlis says:

So woe to those who write the “scripture” with their own hands, then say, “This is from Allah ,” in order to exchange it for a small price. Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn. (Quran’s translation – Sahih International 2:79)

    Allah says in the Quran “يُحَرِّفُونَ الْكَلِمَ عَن مَّوَاضِعِهِ”
They distort words beyond their [proper] usages, pervert the Wordings from their contexts (i.e. original meanings).

That’s how their books have been and still being altered, by displacing the words from their right places. This is because they did not accept all the book as it is.
