Many non-muslims claim that Prophet Muhammad is a liar. This is an unfounded claim since it goes agaisnt many aspects of the seerah of the Prophet.

One notable instance is when the son of the Prophet Muhammad(saw) died and an eclipse occurred the same day. Now it seems to me , that if he is a liar he would have taken advantage of this situation and claimed, that “Yes, this in fact shows that I am a prophet of God, because the universe is saddened by the death of my son”

However this is not the reply of the Prophet Muhammad as seen in theĀ  hadith below:

Sahih Bukhari

Volume 2, Book 18, Number 153:

Narrated Al-Mughira bin Shu’ba:

“The sun eclipsed in the life-time of Allah’s Apostle on the day when (his son) Ibrahim died. So the people said that the sun had eclipsed because of the death of Ibrahim. Allah’s Apostle said, “The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death or life (i.e. birth) of some-one. When you see the eclipse pray and invoke Allah.”
